KABUL (PAN): Residents of Kabul demanded the government to ensure provision of potable water, extension of streets, construction of canalization system.
Most of the residents want the government to focus attention to improve security and promote the ailing agriculture sector.
Kabul city has 22 regions, which have different problmes. The people of 15 district of Kabul complain about the absence of basic necessaties of life and growing insecurity. Residents of northern districts of Kabul said the government to extend all out help in education sector, agriculture and health areas. Also residents of 5th district demanded provision of clean drinking water, saying dug-wells had been dried. Husian Ahmad, a resident of Kabul complained he had to vacate his house and shift to other house because the water well in his old house had been dried.
He asked the government to provide them with clean drinking water and start water supply line without further delay.
 
But residents of four district of Kabul, Muhammad Khalid said, lack of canalization in Kabul city, water stayed inside houses and on the streets, which caused difficulties for people.
 
Khalid demanded the government and mayor to activate canalization system in the city. Jamal, resident of 15 regions of Kabul said government should pay attention to resolve transportation problmes, adding that public transport was decreasing day by day.
 
Talking to Pajhwok Afghan News he said: “Due to growing number of people, people had to wait for hours for public buses, adding women faced greater problems.
 
Dawood, a resident of third region said Silo road from Mamoor said Mairwais Airport was in a shambles, complaining that mayor did not pay heed to resolve the long standing problem.
 
In addition, resident of 11 regions of Kabul demanded the government to increase the number of state-run schools. Abdul Aziz, a resident of the same locality said population of Dasht Barchi was in larger number but the number of state run schools were small.
 
Around 250,000 students are enrolled in Abdur Rahim Shahid High School, demanding the government to build primary, secondary and high schools to faciliate kids.
 
In addition, residents of Kabul demanded the government to issue directives to mayor to streamline traffic system in the locality.
 
Abdul Basir, a government employee told Pajhwok Afghan News it took one hour to travel only five kilometres road due to massive traffic jam.
 
Head of Provincial Council Nasaruddin Baryali said government and its international partners had launched reconstruction projects without any close coordination.
 
He demanded the government to let them know when the concerned department would start any project, adding corruption was a big problem, which was needed to be tackled without further delay.
The money coming from international community was ending up in the pocket of officials.
Provincial Council Member Maryam Ahmadi said the biggest problems in Kabul were joblessness, acute shortage of drinking water, rampant corruption and ill attitude of bureaucracy. She said if government had good plans to tackle joblessness, and provide working opportunities for people then most of the problems would be settled.
 
Ahmad said despite the fact that most of the government, national
council, ministries and other high ranking official’s offices are locatedc in Kabul but still people face multi-problems.
 
Deputy provincial council of Kabul, Sayyed Mujtaba Hashmi demanded the government to help implement constitutional law articles in all aspects, adding, chief district, mayors and governors should be hired
through election.
Resident of 15 districts of Kabul demanded the government that the residents of four eastern and south eastern districts were facing lack of basic facilities, adding that the problem of growing insecurity should be resolved.
Haji Zazi, a resident of Khakjabar district said government did not pay any heed to resolve their pressing problems, adding they were deprived of basic necessities of life. He said reconstruction projects could not be completed in his locality.
Provision of telephone facilities is mandatory. The reconstruction of streets, schools and clinic buildings were of paramount importance, he added.
He went on to say that security was not good in his region, adding that the government should deploy more police personnel in an apparent attempt to enhance peace and tranquality.
Abdul Wali, an elder from Srobi district said that far-flung regions were experiencing greater insecurity, adding that the government should deploy more police force and initiate anti-militants offensive to purge area of anti-state elements.
He went on to stay that agriculture land was less and government should explore job opportunities for the people.
In addition, residents of Bagrami district complained from arbitrary lands usurpers and demanded the government to take consider the problem on priority basis.
Haji Ahsanullah, another elder from the same region said a group of warlords and powerful people had usurped government and private properties. The government and other concerned departments could not take any action against them.
Residents of De Sabz district complained of growing insecurity by saying that insecurity had been spreading due to influential and warlords.

Similarly, resident of Paghman district while complaining from land grabbers demanded of the government to adopt measures to stop influential from grabbing lands of the poor people.
He said population had been growing in Paghman while streets and roads were not graveld. He said people of the locality were direly needed a hospital.
 
Hafizullah, a resident of Shakardara northern district of Kabul demanded the government to stop warlords and influential, adding need urgent help to extend their grapes gardens and measures as how to avoid them from various diseases.
Muhammad Salim, another resident of the same district said at a time  when their grapes faces with certain kind of diseases then they were helpless to tackle the disease.
