CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Over 160 Independent Election Commission (IEC) employees have been identified for their alleged involvement in rigging and violations during the presidential election in central Parwan province and are being referred to judicial organs, an official said on Thursday.

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Eight election workers who were kidnapped on September 28 are still in Taliban captivity in the Shinwari district of central Parwan province.
The Independent Election Commission (IEC) workers were abducted by Taliban in the Namak Aab area of the district on election day evening.

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A man shot dead his cousin who refused to vote for the presidential candidate of his choice in Charikar, the capital of central Parwan province, on Saturday morning, an official said.
The voting process for a new president began this morning across the country. At least 14 candidates are contesting the vote.

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Some unsuccessful women candidates in the last year’s Wolesi Jirgaelections claim rigging and fraud prevented their victory in the polls.
The Wolesi Jirga elections were held on October 20-21 across the country apart from Ghazni and Kandahar provinces.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has announced the Wolesi Jirgaelections preliminary results of central Parwan province.
IEC head Abdul Baday Sayyad on Monday evening said six candidates, including two women, were able to find their way to the new Wolesi Jirga.
