TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A number of women in central Uruzgan province say they would widely participate in the upcoming presidential election if they are provided required facilities and easy access to polling stations.
The Uruzgan women expressed these views during a meeting organized by the Independent Election Commission (IEC) here.

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): In violation of the election law, some government officials were seen taking part in a Sunday election campaign gathering for President Ashraf Ghani in central Uruzgan province.
The gathering in Tirinkot, the provincial capital, was organized on Sunday and besides influential local persons, elders, common people and some government officials were in attendance.

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Dozens of supporters of a failing female Wolesi Jirga candidate on Monday staged a protest demonstration in this capital city of central Uruzgan province, accusing the local election body of electoral fraud.
Four days ago, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced preliminary results from the Oct 20 Wolesi Jirga elections of five provinces, including Uruzgan.

TARINKOT (Pajhwok): Provincial Council in central Uruzgan province on Wednesday observed that lukewarm approach to tackle residents’ grievances have created gulf between people and government.
Uruzgan provincial council has nine members. Due to differences between members, the council elected its administrative board six months after being sworn-in.
Abdul Karim Khademzai, provincial council secretary, in an interview with Pajhwok Afghan News claimed some local officials had established private prisons where people were tortured.
