KABUL (Pajhwok): The Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FEFA) on Monday questioned the participation of 33 Wolesi Jirga candidates in the lower house inaugural session before obtaining their acknowledgment certificates from the Independent Election Commission (IEC).

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has pledged to protect the nation and not allow anyone to commit anguish till the conduct of the upcoming presidential elections.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The State Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs on Sunday said the 17thlegislative term of the National Assembly would be inaugurated this ongoing week and ministers-designate would be also introduced to the lower house.

KABUL (Pajhwok): Many experts say 67 pieces of legislation are awaiting approval from the lower house of parliament which was to be inaugurated on March 7 as per the law.
The Wolesi Jirga elections were held on October 20, 21, 2018 in 32 provinces and a week later in southern Kandahar province. The polls in southern Ghazni province are scheduled to be held together with the presidential election in 2019.
