JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Dissatisfied with the parliamentary vote’s outcome, some residents of eastern Nuristan province on Tuesday warned not to participate in the July presidential poll if reforms were not brought to the electoral bodies.

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Fifteen Taliban, three security personneland a civilian have been killed during a clash in the Kamdesh district of eastern Nuristan province, officials said on Saturday.
The ongoing clash erupted on Friday when the Taliban attacked the checkpoints in Kamdesh district, the governor’s spokesman, Musa Shami, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Air support was provided to police last night when 15 insurgents were killed and a dozen others wounded. Some civilians were also injured, he said.

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The acting governor on Monday asked the Parliament to pay proper attention to the development of eastern Nuristan province while approving upcoming annual budget.
Hafiz Abdul Qayyum told Pajhwok Afghan News during an interview that the condition of all roads in the province was terrible and still most of the areas remained disconnected from Paroon, the provincial capital.

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Provincial council head of eastern Nuristan province claimed on Wednesday that the self-styled Daesh had initiated constructing a military base there amid reports that security forces was investing the issue, an official said on Wednesday.
The area of Mandawal is located in eastern Nuristan and an easy access to Paroon, Panjsher and Badakhshan provinces.  The influx and heavy presence of militants left great impact on law and order situation in Badakhshan province and to pave way to central Asian states, the official said.
