The northern province of Baghlan along with Pul-i-Khumri city comprises 15 administrative units.
1 – Pul-I-Khumri City:
 
Baghlan is among the northern provinces of the county with its capital city is known as Pul-i-Khumri.  The province lies on Kabul-North highway, which connects nine provinces to each other.  Pul-i-Khumri was known as Pul-i-Khumari in the past and is known as an economic hub.
 
Existence of Sement-i-Ghori, textile and Silo factories and three mines of coal, Karkar, Dodkash and Ahan Dara added considerably to the economic importance of the city. Most of the residents are associated with farming sector while rests are working as government employees.
 
Rice, wheat, melon and vegetables are the known products of the province while Baghlani rice is known for its special taste, which are being exported to other provinces.
 
2 – Doshi District:
 
Doshti district is located 50 kilometers to the south of the capital city of Pul-i-Khumri. Residents of the district are growing wheat and rice. There is a gold mine in the town located in Askart valley of the district.  
 
3 – Khinjan District:
 
Khinjan district is located 72 kilometers of the capital city of Pul-i-Khumri city. Residents of the town associate with the profession of livestock and gardening with its raspberries have countrywide reputation. The raspberries are in great use in winter after making them dried. Khinjan shares borders with Salang district of Parwan province and Salan pass, which connects Kabul with nine Northern provinces.
 
4 – Andarabha District:
 
Andarabha occupies a vast area in northern Baghlan province, comprising Deh Salah, Bano and Pul-i-Hisar districts.  
 
5 – Deh Salah District:
 
Deh Salah district is located 117 kilometers of Pul-i-Khumri city. Rice, wheat and fresh fruits including apple, plum and peach are among the growing agriculture crops of the town.
 
6 – Banou District:
 
Banou District is located 108 kilometers from the capital city of Pul-i-Khumri. Residents of the district are associated with the profession of gardening, livestock and agriculture. The Alogak coal mine is located in Banou district where extraction of mine offer work opportunities for the residents.
7 – Pul-I-Hisar District:
 
Pul-i-Hesar district is one of the remote districts of the province located 125 kilometers from Pul-i-Khumri city. It shares border with Bazarak area of central Panjshir province.
 
Most of its people associate with the profession of livestock and gardening but they have long been suffering from the saga of insecurity due to presence of armed individuals.
However, existence of illegal arms and differences among people are considered as main reasons behind insecurity in the town.
 
8 – Nahrin District:
 
Nahrin district is located 75 kilometers to the northeast of Pul-i-Khumri city. It people too associate with the profession of livestock and agriculture. The Chinarak coal mine is located in the town.
 
9 – Talla Wa Barfak District:
 
Talla Wa Barfak is among remote districts of the province located 123 kilometers to the southwest of Pul-i-Khumri city. Economic of the residents of the town depends on agriculture and livestock. There are two coal mines in the town with one situated in Talla and the second in Barfak areas.  The district shares border with Saighan district of central Bamyan.
 
10 – Dahn-i-Ghori district:
 
Dahna-i-Ghori district is located 27 kilometers to the northwest of Pul-i-Khumri city. The district shares border with Samangan province with economy of its residents depend on agriculture.
 
11 - Baghlan-i-Markazi District:
 
Baghlan-i-Markazi is one of the known industrial, central and populated districts of the province located 43 kilometers to the northeast of Pul-i-Khumri city. Economy of the residents of the town depends on agriculture but presence of armed rebels deteriorated security of the town. Existence of sugar factory multiplied the economy position of the province. The sugar factory started activities in 1940 but percentage of the products of the facility went down by 1978. However, it becomes operational again in 2008.
 
12 – Barka District:
 
Barka is located 85 kilometers from Pul-i-Khumri city where the economy of the people mostly depends on agriculture and livestock. Barka shares border with Ashkamish district of northern Takhar province.
 
13 – Jalga District:
 
Jalga district is located 93-kilometers from Pul-i-Khumri city with its residents associate with the profession of livestock and agriculture.
 
14 – Khost District:
 
Khost district is located 136-kilometers from Pul-i-Khumri city. Economy of the residents of the town depends on agriculture and livestock.  
 
15 – Farang District:
 
Farang district is located 150 kilometers to the northeast of Pul-i-Khumri city, sharing border with Farkhar district of northern Takhar province. Farang is among the mountainous districts with its residents’ economy depends on livestock.   
 
16 – Guzargah-i-Noor:
 
Located 159-kilometers from Pul-i-Khumri city, Guzargah-i-Noor is among remote districts of the province and its residents associate with the profession of livestock.
