Kabul province includes 1, 053 villages, which are divided into 14 administrative and 22 municipality districts:
1-Kabul City:
Kabul city has 22 municipality districts. Recently, a number of nearby villages merged into the city. Some villages from Deh Sabz, Bagrami, Paghman districts and Chardihi sub district have been included in Kabul municipality districts. Located in the west and southwest, the Chardihis locality is a vast area of Kabul city which is divided into five municipality districts.
2-Khak-i-Jabar district:
Khak-i-Jabar district has around a totally population of 75, 000 individuals. Karokhel, Chakari, Malang, Khork Kabul, Gurg Maidan, Taghar Olia, Malik Khel, Kharoti, TagharSufla, DowranKhel, Chinar, Natokhel, Mula Omar and Sawki are its known villages.
3-Surobi District:    
The Surobi district is located in the east of Kabul on Kabul- Jalabad highway. Its widely known villages included Mahipar, Naghlu and Surobi power dams are located in the district. Surobi has more than 30 villages.
4-Dehsabz District:
Dehsabz district is situated 15- 20 kilometres northeast of Kabul city. It has a total area of 466 square kilometers with a total population of 100, 136 individuals as per the 2002 estimate. The district has around 58 villages and shared borders with Shakardara and Mir BachaKot districts to the west, Kalakan and Qarabagh districts to the north-west, Parvan province to the north and east, Surobi to the southeast and Bagrami and Kabul districts to the south. Tarakhel is considered the headquarters of Dehsabz, which situated in the southwestern part of the district.
 
5-Bagrami District:
Bagrami district is located in the central part of Kabul province. It is situated at almost 30 minutes drive toward east from the capital city, Kabul. In 2002, it had a total population of 85,000 individuals.  Bagrami locality is known as its headquarters. The district shares borders with Kabul to the west, De Sabz to the north, Surobi to the east, and Khaki Jabbar, Musayi and Char Asiab districts to the South. It has more than 20 villages.
6-Kalakan District:
Kalakan is located in the northern part of Kabul province. It borders with Guldara district to the west, Qarabagh district to the north, Dihsabz district to the east and Mir Bachakot district to the south. As per the 2006 estimate, its total population was 26, 800 individuals. The center is the village of Kalakan, which is situated in the central part of the district. It has more than 30 villages.
7-Qarabagh District:
Qarabagh district is located 50 kilometres north of Kabul city and 20 kilometers southeast of Bagram Airbase. The district has the vital route between Kabul and Parwan. It has more than 30 villages with a total 15, 000 populations. 
8-Shakardara District:
Shakardara district is situated in the northern part of Kabul province. It has around 30 villages with an estimated population of 63,000 individuals. Shakardara borders with Parvan province to the west, Guldara district to the north, Mir Bachakot, Dehsabz and Kabul districts to the east, and Paghman district to the south. Construction work on Shah Waros Power Dam had been started here back in 2012. 
9-Istalif District
The Istalif district is located in the northwestern part of Kabul province. Its 27 villages are said to have a total population of 36,000 individuals. The locality has vast fruit trees and vegetable gardens. Istalif district borders with Parwan province to the north and west, Qarabagh district to the east and Guldara district to the south. Its pottery industry is famous throughout the country.
10-Paghman District:
Paghman district is situated 25 kilometres in the western part of Kabul. It has an estimated population of 120,000 individuals. Paghman borders with Wardak and Parwan provinces to the west, Shakardara district to the north, Kabul to the east and Char Asiab district to the southeast. Paghman has around 30 villages and is a popular recreational site.
11-Char Asiab District:
Char Asiab district is situated in the southern part of Kabul province. It has around 40 villages with an estimated population of 35,000 individuals. Char Asiab borders with Logar province to the south, Wardak to the west, Paghman district to the northwest, Kabul to the north, and Bagrami and Mussahi districts to the west.
12-Mir Bachakot District:
Mir Bachakot district is situated 25 kilometres to the north of Kabul province. It has around 20 villages with an estimated population of 5, 000 individuals. Mir Bachakot shares borders with Shakardara district to the west, Guldara and Kalakan districts to the north, and Dehsabz district to the east.
13-Mussahi District:
Mussahi district is situated 30 kilometres in the southern part of Kabul province. The district consist 67 villages with an estimated population of 30, 000 individuals. Mussai district borders with Char Asiab district to the west, Bagrami district to the north, Khaki Jabbar district to the east and Logar province to the south. Earlier, it was part of Char Asiab district, Mussahi got the status of an independent district back in 2001.
 
14-Farza District:
Farza district has a total 500 square kilometres area. It has an estimated population of 18,000 individuals.  In January 1991, Farza was separated as an independent district from Mir Bachakot district. It is a small district north of Kabul up in the hill of the northwestern part of Shomali Plain. Farza contains 18 villages.
15-Guldara District:
Guldara District is situated 20 kilometres in the northern part of Kabul province. Guldara borders with Farza district to the north, Shakardara district to the south, Baba Mountains to the west and Mirbachakot district to the east. The district has around 20 villages.
