KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): The southeastern Khost is one of the richest provinces in terms of natural resources, officials said.
Copper, murqury, plumbum and chromite reservoirs could be found in huge quanity elsewhere in the volatile Khost.
The sites of chromite mines had been noticed in parts of the province,officals said,complaining the illegal extraction and smuggling of the precious was underway by local groups.

KHOST (PAN): Almost 80% economy of the residents of southeastern Khost Province depends on agriculture and livestock, officials said.
On path of achieving tangible progress, the business and agriculture sectors need more attention to be developed on modern lines.
Agriculture:
Dr. Abdul Rahim, director agriculture, irrigation, and livestock told Pajhwok Afghan News that the agro sector has the capacity for further development but the problems including the irrigation water shortage being faced by the farmers need urgent attention to be tackled.

KHOST CITY (PAN): For the last few years, the strategically located Khost Province is heading on path to progress in terms of completion of development projects but some of the schemes are yet to be completed, officials and residents say.

Khost Governor Abdul Jabar Naeemi said that the province sees huge improvement in reconstruction sector during the last ten years. He said that roads linking districts with the provincial capital have been paved.

KHOST (PAN): Local officials say that the Khost province has witnessed enhanced stability with the security parameters have been extended to the boundary areas enabling the government to have enough control over the remote districts as compared to the past.
Giving details of security in the restive province, Khost Governor Abdul Jabar Naeemi said that the Afghan security forces are armed with sophisticated weaponry, which has helped reduced security related incidents elsewhere in the area. He said that outlawed elements have been weakened to great extent.

Khost City (PAN): Provincial Education Director Bakhtnor Bakhtyar said that the education sector faces daunting challenges however, some progress has been made to promote and enhance the literacy rate in the southeastern Khost province.
“Most of the schools have no proper buildings and confront lack of professional teachers amid multiple problems that haunt the educational institutions in the volatile Khost province,” Bakhtyar told Pajhwok Afghan News.
