PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): The provincial council of northern Baghlan province criticized local governance amid complains that Taliban’s influence has gaining momentum even inside the capital of the province.
Provincial council head Mohammad Safdar Mohsini told Pajhwok Afghan News that militants were active in Wazirabad areas of Pul-i-Khumri City, the provincial capital, and they were inciting locals against government.
He shared the issue time and again with security officials during their meetings but no attention could be paid to ameliorate the situation.

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Two provincial council members escaped unharmed when a roadside bomb went off in front of their vehicle in northern Baghlan province on Saturday.
Provincial council member Assadullah Shahbar told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred at around 12:30pm in front of the council’s entrance gate.
Shahbaz added he came out from the council office along with his colleague Alam Jan Mujahid when the blast took place, damaging their bullet-proof vehicle, but nobody was hurt.

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Officials in Baghlan-i-Markazi district of northern Baghlan province said the district had been cleared of insurgents but members of provincial council said Taliban had still sway in several areas.
Maj. Gen. Asadullah Sherzad, the Ministry of Interior special unit commander, said Baghlan-i-Markazi had been purged of militants two days back and Dand-i-Ghori locality in the vicinity of provincial capital was cleared on Wednesday.
