FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): Presidential runner Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Tuesday pledged to construct Kabul-Herat highway if won the runoff vote. The highway would help bolster tourism in the country.
Addressing a gathering in Lalwa Sar Jangal district of western Ghor province, Abdullah said the construction of the highway was not only the demand of the people of central zone but he would bolster economy of the country.

 
FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Hundreds of people on Sunday staged a peaceful demonstration in western Ghor province chanting slogans in support of elections and against suicide attacks and the killing of innocent people.
The demonstrators, including civil society activists and residents, marched on a road leading to the Ferozkoh Square in the provincial capital, Chaghcharan.

 
FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): Hundreds of women in western Ghor province on Wednesday pledged to vote in large number in the runoff vote scheduled to take place on June 14.
Masooma Anwari, women affairs director, while speaking on the occasion told the gathering: “The women presented at today’s gathering pledged to come out of their houses and cast their vote in the second round of presidential polls.”

 
CHAGHCHARAN (Pajhwok):  Heavy snowfall has blocked roads, creating problems in transporting ballot boxes to the capital of western Ghor province, officials said on Sunday.
An Afghanistan Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) official said roads between districts and Chaghcharan, the provincial capital, had been clogged by snowfall.
Hamidullah Dadfar told Pajhwok Afghan News up to 50 centimetres of snow had been recorded in Lal Sarjangal, Dolina and Shahrak districts. The latest snowfall in Ghor is a record in the past decade.
